General Rules
1) NO verbal abuse against other members. AT ALL. If you start an internet shitstorm in here, you're out faster than the Flash on Ritalin. I mean it. Banned user, thread locked, the whole shabang. Everyone is equal here, and I expect to see that respected.
2) We allow swearing, so go loose. But be careful, as we don't allow any racial slurs, sexual slurs, or anything like that. If there's questionable content we will change it.
3) Use proper spelling and grammar here on the boards, okay? No OmG ThIS PoST iz l4me! type posts. Use English.
4) We're rather lenient here on The Devil's Playground, but if there are any problems, PM myself, Gryphon, Azrael, or Nara about it. Although we're nice, we're admins and still have to do our job.
5) Please don't cause us any more grief than we need. We're mostly in college. We have lives. We can't be spending every waking moment fixing your problems.
6) Any real problems and the thread in question will be locked.
7) No posting something silly to get your post count up. I've seen this before and BOY it getts old fast. Post something substantial to the topic or your warning level goes up.
Edit 1-13-09 8) We don't mind if you use a post like "ok i agree/disagree with the topic b/c plz insert reason here" as long as what you've posted is understandable. We don't care about capitals and punctuation as long as we can understand you. We'd rather you use proper sentence structure, but we won't crack down on it.
Roleplaying Rules
1) No powerplaying. This means taking control of another character's actions or reactions.
2) No godmoding. This means overpowering your character to the point where they're invincible. NO ONE IS JESUS HERE.
3) Use proper spelling and grammar. I can't stress this enough.
4) We use story format here on the boards, not script format. We see script format and the thread will be shut down.
5) No one line posts. Make it substantial to the story. No "so-and-so did/said this."
Bad example:
Bob picked a twig off the ground.
Good example:
Bob picked a twig off of the ground, examined it, and, deciding it wasn't poison or some sort of weapon, placed it back on the ground where it came from. "Hey guys," Bob said, "Where are we going anyway?"
6) Homosexual relationships in RPs are fine and in fact most of my own and the other admin's characters are gay anyway so there's no need to start a shitstorm about the character's sex/ sexual orientation.
7) Nothing TOO overly sexual. As much as we all like porn, if we see too much skin, thread's getting closed. Sorry, it's our job. However, the admins are exempt from this rule, mostly because the admin-only topics are just that. Admin only.
8) Your display name MUST be the name of your roleplaying character. Note that mine is Droiture LeReve and Nara's is Nara Rien, etc. We play by these characters. Please. No cute_chick_498765 or whatever. Please. This is mainly a roleplaying site and we want names that are easy to remember.
With all that said, feel free to post around and follow these rules. Happy trails! We will add/ remove rules upon neccessity, but don't worry, we'll warn you through email.
